OFFICE UPDATE

Getting settled in a new home always takes more time than I think it will. We are slowly getting settled and making progress on the decor, but the one space that I'm crazy about already is my office. Having a gorgeous space to work in makes such a difference in a creative industry. I feel inspired, organized, and efficient; everything my home office dreams are made of.

I knew I wanted a big desk, giant enough for lots of projects happening all at once for my multitask-loving brain, and this DIY did the trick. I purchased the trestles secondhand, originally from Ikea, and my "desk" is an old door from my in-laws balanced on top. The best part is the door handle left a hole that is the perfect space for my phone and computer chargers to poke through as a hidden charging station.

I've had my eye on a fiberglass shell chair for a long time, and this one from Modernica is perfect. Each chair is made by hand in LA, and the design and construction are top notch. I have the white seat with maple zinc wire legs (seen here, white is fourth from left) and I love that it goes with everything, but you can choose from so many different seat and leg combinations. The assembly is easy and the chair is ready to go in minutes. It's a stunning work of art that doubles as useful seating that I will use everyday.
